The advantage of being close to a major city is that students have the same access that students who live in the city have basically because it is such a short drive to Atlanta. Clayton State is a quick 20 minute drive from downtown Atlanta. So students are able to come in and actually meet and explore opportunities with corporations. Fortune 500 corporations here in the Atlanta area, such as AT&T, Home Depot, Centers for Disease Control, just to name a few. One of the things that students have an opportunity to take advantage of at Clayton state is our focus on experiential learning. It's a part of our university strategic plan. So students have an opportunity to gain experience very early on in their career because it's a requirement in their academic programs. One of these statistics that I think incoming students would be very proud of is that over 90% of our students that graduate from Clayton State are graduating into full time opportunities. And so that means that when they finish their degree they can fully expect to go to work in their field of choice. One of the reasons why I'm proud to work at Clayton State is the fact that we're able to assist our students in finding gainful employment. But I know that the reason that these students are able to do that is that they remain focused in a challenging situation. As many of them mentioned this when they're talking to employers about one of the things they're most proud of is that they actually are getting their degree from Clayton State University.
