Clayton State molds you. So when you come in, not only do you get your first year advisor, but you also have continuing advisors that help you with your classes and just things outside of school normally.

So basically, what happens at the New Student Convocation is that all the freshmen gather in Spivey Hall.

You definitely get to hear from our President, Dr. Hynes. You also get a chance to meet some of your other students.

I think the most important thing that's available at the First Year Advising Center is your advisor, because there's somebody that you can go to if you have any sort of issues. They mold your schedule for you. And they also go ahead and tell you what's best for you for your major and what path you should go on in the following years.

There are a lot of organizations that assist students. There are the Centers for Academic Success, the Writers Studio. I'm very much acquainted with the Veterans Resource Center. I work on work study there. And it is very good in assisting veterans in readjusting to college life and just with simple things like homework.

So with Ask Me, you're having students just tell you where to go. Maybe you're just lost around the corner, you know. A student is always there in an orange shirt with the Ask Me sign to help you out. So they're really helpful. They're really nice. And they're going to make sure you know where you're going.
